They were recorded by the virtuoso duo of Agnieszka Podłucka (viola) and Andrzej Karałow (piano), whose collaboration is founded not only on shared music-making but also on artistic reflection, which has resulted in a new, dedicated composition. The works presented here—woven together by a remarkably engaging performance history—display a wide range of characters. One can therefore hear classical form alongside freedom from notational rigor, a dialogue with the past and the search for new inspirations, as well as vivid, painterly soundscapes shaped by the instruments.

“Closure, and at the same time a beginning: this is Agnieszka Podłucka’s phonographic debut, heralding further stories and—perhaps—future journeys through the realm of contemporary sonatas. On her album, three important works, connected by threads of form, inspiration, and history, solidify into a sonic photograph. Phonography, in turn, gains a recording that—regardless of the concert life of the three sonatas—will, I have no doubt, inspire future music lovers, performers, and composers.” (Mariusz Gradowski)

The recordings were made in 2023 and 2024 in Warsaw, in the concert hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.

[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Listen to our album – link to streamings” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fid.ffm.to%2Fchopin_university_press_cascadas|title:Link%20to%20streamings”][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1677590030965{padding-right: 5% !important;padding-left: 5% !important;}”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”OUR REPERTOIRE” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]

Robert Schumann – Märchenbilder op. 113

Dmitri Shostakovich – Sonata for viola and piano op. 147

Haflidi Hallgrimsson – Notes from a Diary (2005) for viola and piano

Andrzej Czajkowski – Sonata (1954-55) for viola and piano

Paweł Szymański – Sonata (2015) for viola and piano

Jan Astriab – Sonata for viola and piano

Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz – Sonata for viola and piano

Andrzej Karałow – Sonata (2021) for viola and piano

Aleksander Kościów – Noumen III (2022) for viola and piano (dedicated to duo)

Benjamin Britten – Lachrymae for viola and piano

Valentin Silvestrov – Epitaph (version for viola and piano)

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row parallax=”content-moving” css=”.vc_custom_1677188820898{background-image: url(http://sweet3.home.pl/autoinstalator/nowa/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Zrzut-ekranu-2023-02-23-o-22.46.01.png?id=481) !important;background-position: center;background-repeat: no-repeat;background-size:cover;}”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”532px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1678455865799{margin-right: 131px !important;}”]

fot.
