The album is a story about pathways: both the literal ones, inspired by nature and landscape, and the hidden, internal, sonic ones that guide the listener through a series of abstract micro-worlds saturated with detail.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"999\">The title refers to Aboriginal \u201csonglines\u201d \u2013 maps concealed within songs, which can be \u201clistened to like a landscape.\u201d Kara\u0142ow uses this metaphor to connect seemingly distant compositions: from the sonoristic, almost waterfall-like quartet <em data-start=\"662\" data-end=\"723\">Some whispers of mists and water above, hidden in the rocks<\/em>, through the repetitive and precisely crafted <em data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"789\">Timelapse Studies<\/em>, to the exceptionally intimate <em data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"834\">Silent rain<\/em> for solo accordion. Each piece becomes a point of orientation \u2013 a kind of stop along a sonic map where the perspective, rhythm, and dynamics of the narrative shift.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1509\">At the heart of the album is a cycle of four songs set to the poetry of Peter Gizzi. His texts \u2013 spacious, rich in impressions and sensuality \u2013 open up space for Kara\u0142ow to engage in a subtle interplay between word and sound. Completing the whole is <em data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1265\">Interweaving<\/em> for wooden flute and an 1842 historical piano \u2013 a composition of interlacing lines inspired by the shapes of glacial rivers. This is music that moves like nature itself: at times in a broad current, at others in an intimate, chamber-like flow.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"2107\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The album was recorded in 2025 at Polish Radio\u2019s Studio S4, Studio Izabelin, and at Andrzej W\u0142odarczyk\u2019s Piano Workshop. The recordings feature outstanding musicians: Olivia Bujnowicz, Oriana Masternak, Mateusz Stankiewicz, Aleksander Rewi\u0144ski, Ania Karpowicz, Marcel Markowski, Naruhiko Kawaguchi, and Agnieszka Pod\u0142ucka. Sound engineering was provided by Igor Szyma\u0144ski, Ma\u0142gorzata Szyma\u0144ska, and Micha\u0142 Bereza. They were recorded by the virtuoso duo of Agnieszka Pod\u0142ucka (viola) and Andrzej Kara\u0142ow (piano), whose collaboration is founded not only on shared music-making but also on artistic reflection, which has resulted in a new, dedicated composition. The works presented here\u2014woven together by a remarkably engaging performance history\u2014display a wide range of characters. One can therefore hear classical form alongside freedom from notational rigor, a dialogue with the past and the search for new inspirations, as well as vivid, painterly soundscapes shaped by the instruments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"1242\">\u201cClosure, and at the same time a beginning: this is Agnieszka Pod\u0142ucka\u2019s phonographic debut, heralding further stories and\u2014perhaps\u2014future journeys through the realm of contemporary sonatas. On her album, three important works, connected by threads of form, inspiration, and history, solidify into a sonic photograph. By connecting music with synesthesia, I want to reach a unique connection of sound, its colour, and time. The best link-symbol to observe the paradox of variability and permanency of landscapes is journey. Earth, physical land, tectonic layers, colours \u2013 all of these elements connect with spiritual aspect of steadiness and unpredictability. Improvisation \u2013 which is also important for me in the context of musical creation \u2013\u00a0as musical element and technique, symbolizes in my music a wandering through internal sound landscapes, merging everything into a single, organic whole.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Landscape, space, colour, sound, light, shadow \u2013 these are the elements that inspire my imagination. The complexity of landscape \u2013 often understood symbolically or abstractly \u2013 triggers many factors related to the shaping of sound material and its colour and of the sound structure itself. All of the four works are shaping a meditative atmosphere, each in its own way. &#8220;Stone Music&#8221; by Zygmunt Krauze and &#8220;Zerstreutes Hinausschauen&#8221; by Tomasz Sikorski were the underlying inspirations for works from the vinyl&#8217;s other side: &#8220;Stratum&#8221; by \u017baneta Rydzewska and &#8220;There are forgotten bells above the crawling cloud&#8221; written me. Two sides of this LP album, set up like a mirror, use the sound of the piano in conventional as well as sonoristic, extended way. Kara\u0142ow&#8217;s meta-opera aims to demonstrate a different approach to the opera genre by combining various stylistic and technical influences from the borders of classical, improvised, and electronic music. Sound and lyrics create a new world based on synesthetic and abstract references. It is a type of a static opera, without stage action. The libretto and its &#8220;play of light&#8221; and symbols correlate with the sound color (gradually illuminated).<\/p>\n<p>The work&#8217;s form is based on three acts, each containing three poem-images presented by three protagonists: the terminally ill, the Doctor, and Death (Euthanatos). The formal arrangement draws on the traditions of ancient theater: tripartite structure, the unity of time and place, and the influence of fate. Another key goal of the Chromatophonic Trio is to promote and develop the latest piano trio repertoire within conceptually coherent concert and publishing projects. The band members\u2014Roksana Kwa\u015bnikowska (violin), Agata Dobrza\u0144ska (cello), and Andrzej Kara\u0142ow (piano)\u2014are renowned musicians professionally associated with both the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and renowned orchestras such as the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Drawn from the dictionary of visual arts, the pairs of oppositions: light and shadow, sharp and soft, warm and cold, are just some of the determinants that form the interpretive framework of this album.
